No First Prize was awarded at this year’s Prague Spring International Cello Competition. 28-year-old Czech cellist Vaclav Petr, a former prize winner at the David Popper, Antonio Janigro, Bohuslav Martinu competitions, won Second Prize.
Joint 3rd prize was awarded to Julia Hagen from Austria and Aleksey Shadrin from Ukraine. The jury comprised cellists Anne Gastinel, Christian Poltéra, Emil Rovner and Jens Peter Maintz.
