Russian Director Alexander Molochnikov will not take part in the production of the one-act operas Francesca da Rimini by Sergei Rachmaninov and The FTragedy by Alexander Zemlinsky, which is scheduled at the Bolshoi Theater in July 2023.
The dismissing of the artist comes at the request of Dmitry Kuznetsov, Secretary of the Group for Investigation of Anti-Russian Activities in the Sphere of Culture (GRAD). This Putin-steered administration is investigating Molochnikov’s position on what Putin falsely and hypocritically calls ‘special operation’ in Ukraine.
