When Walter Vergnano resigned as superintendent of Turin’s Teatro Regio, last week, Italian media wrote that presumably Music Director Gianandrea Noseda would also resign. Two days after the city of Turin named William Graziosi, 56, as Vergnano’s successor, Nosedo resigned indeed. « With deep regret I do not intend to make myself available to continue the relationship with the Teatro Regio Torino for the projects that we had planned starting from the 2018/2019 season, but I will respect the commitments made this summer with the festivals of Montreux, Stresa and with the MiTo Festival di Torino. »
