The current Deputy Manager of the ‘Opéra Comique’ in Paris, Olivier Mantei (49), has been named General manager as from December 2016 on. He will be the successor to Jérôme Deschamps, whose contract will end in Summer 2015. Mantei has been chosen from a long list of candidates comprising some well known musicians such as Laurence Equilbey and Marc Minkowski. The opera house, also known as ‘Salle Favart’, will undergo a renovation during 16 months, which explains that Mantei will take his new job only in 2016. Mantei is also one of the managers of the Paris based ‘Bouffes du Nord’.
