The first Conducting Competition of the National Radio Television of Albania – to the memory of Maestro Nikolla Zoraqi – ended yesterday at the Music Academy in Tirana with the victory of the Bulgarian conductor Delyana Lazarova who studied with conductors such has Bernard Haitink, Paavo Järvi and Leonard Slatkin. She has conducted orchestras in the United States, Europe and Asia and has been chosen as conducting fellow for the Aspen Music Festival in 2019.
The organizer says that they are « particularly glad that on the International Women’s Day we have a woman as a winner of the competition and two women among the three finalists. »
The first prize includes concerts with the Albanian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra in Tirana, the Hungarian National Radio Television Symphony Orchestra in Budapest and I Solisti Aquilani in Italy.
