When conductor Daniel Lipton, 76, resigned as artistic director of Opera Tampa in July 2017, his contract was running until 2018. The official reason was that he wanted to pursue other projects. According to an article in the Tampa Bay Times, the management of Opera Tampa has now acknowledged that they cut ties with the French-born conductor due to the accusations.
