According to the Musicians’ Union members of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House in London have voted overwhelmingly in favor of potential strike action in a ballot that closed on 17 July. The Union says that whilst pay and conditions for other orchestras have returned to pre-Covid levels, the 10% pay cut taken by players in the ROH orchestra – to help keep the company afloat whilst live performances were halted for public health reasons – remains in force- The musicians ask to get their wages back to what they were before the pandemic.
