Magali Rousseau, who acted as Director General since 2016, quits the Orchestre da la Suisse Romande. The presse release says: « The Foundation Board of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, SRO Music and Artistic Director Jonathan Nott, and Magali Rousseau, SRO Director General, have decided, by mutual agreement and after careful consideration, not to continue their collaboration at the end of the current season. After three seasons of intense and productive collaboration, this decision follows differences of opinion regarding the SRO’s long-term artistic vision and development strategy. » Despite of this rather negative formulation, Olivier Hari, Chairman of the OSR Foundation Board, says: « Together with Jonathan Nott, Music and Artistic Director, Magali Rousseau has given the OSR a positive boost, bringing an end to a difficult period. Since November 2016, it has actively contributed to its reorganization and repositioning. The OSR has broadened its audience by diversifying its offer. It leaves us with the feeling that we share the same sense of accomplishment. We wish Magali Rousseau every success in the realization of her new professional projects. »
