The Portland based Oregon Symphony has announced that Austrian-born conductor David Danzmayr, 41, will serve as its next Music Director with the launch of the2021-2022 season and the symphony’s 125th anniversary year.
Danzmayr succeeds Carlos Kalmar, who has held the position for the last 18 years. Danzmayr is also Chief Conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio. Previously David Danzmayr served as Music Director of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra in Chicago.
