Die Salzburger Osterfestspiele haben präsentieren für 2014 eine positive Bilanz: Es seien 16.400 Karten verkauft worden, was einer Auslastung von 88 Prozent entspreche, informierte die Osterfestspiele Salzburg GmbH in einer Mitteilung. Die Osterfestspiele 2014 seien unter der künstlerischen Leitung Christian Thielemanns « künstlerisch wie wirtschaftlich erfolgreich » gewesen.

Donato Cabrera has been named music director of the Las Vegas Philharmonic as from the next season on. He will launch the 2014-15 season on Saturday, September 27th in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center. Cabrera (43) was born in Pasadena, California. He studied at the University of Nevada, the University of Illinois, Indiana University, and the Manhattan School of Music. He made his professional debut with the Reno Chamber Orchestra in 1997. Concord, die Hauptstadt des US-Bundesstaates New Hampshire (ca. 130 nördlich von Boston) hat ca. 50.000 Einwohner und ein Symphonieorchester…im Ruhezustand, das ‘Granite State Symphony Orchestra’. In dieser Saison hat es noch kein Konzert gespielt. Mit nur ca. 500 regelmäßigen Konzertbesuchern war das Geschäft nicht mehr aufrecht zu erhalten, sagen die Verantwortlichen, und es sei immer schwieriger, ein Publikum zu finden, das bereit sei, 90 Minuten auf einem Sitz auszuharren. The 2014/15 concert season marks the beginning of a new era, evident in the first official concert of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. The new Music Director Andrés Orozco-Estrada is celebrating his début with an open-air concert. Artist in Residence is the Moldavian violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, who will be giving guest performances in four concert programmes.
