Sie studierte Harfe an der Musik-Akademie der Stadt Basel und mit Mireille Flour am ‘Conservatoire Royal de Musique’ in Brüssel. The renowned chamber music ensemble ‘Quatuor Isaÿe’ gave its very last concert on Friday 24th at the Auditorium of ‘Cité de la Musique’ in Paris. In the French press the founder and viola player Miguel da Silva explained that the four musicians decided two years ago to stop activities in 2014, the year of the Quartet’s 30th anniversary. Besides Da Silva, the ensemble comprised violinists Guillaume Sutre and Luc-Marie Aguera as well as cellist Yovan Markovitch.

Der Kultur- und Erziehungsminister der andalusischen Regionalregierung, Luciano Alonso, hat öffentlich das Jahresgehalt des Chefdirigenten des ‘Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla’ (ROSS), Pedro Halffter, kritisiert, dessen Vertrag eine Entlohung von 250.000 € vorsieht. Niemand solle im öffentlichen Dienst mehr verdienen als der Ministerpräsident, dessen Gehalt sich auf 69.000 € belaufe, sagte der Minister. Als Kirchenmusiker ausgebildet, schlug Patzak 1926 als Autodidakt die Sängerlaufbahn ein und debütierte im selben Jahr als Radames in Giuseppe Verdis ‘Aida’ am Stadttheater in Reichenberg. 1927/28 sang er am Stadttheater in Brünn und wurde 1928 an die Bayerische Staatsoper verpflichtet, deren gefeiertes Ensemblemitglied er bis 1947 blieb. Japanese conductor Kazushi Ono will take over the musical leadership of the ‘Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya’ from September 2015. According to the Orchestra’s General Manager François Bou, Ono’s appointment has been based on the following criteria: “His ability to help orchestras develop and blossom, his maturity and experience, his knowledge of a wide range of repertoire, his international stature and his respect and understanding of Catalonia.” Read More →
