French Composer Michel Petrossian has won the the Queen Elisabeth International Grand Prize for Composition with his concerto ‘In the wake of Ea’. The laureate work will be performed in the final of the 2013 Queen Elisabeth Piano Competition, from 27 May until 1st June, at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts by the 12 finalists with the National Orchestra of Belgium, conducted by Marin Alsop. Michel Petrossian is from Armenian descent. He was born in Yerewan in 1973.

In einer sechsstündigen Sitzung des Salzburger Festspielkuratoriums wurde am gestrigen Mittwoch ein Kompromiss für den Haushalt der Festspiele 2014 erzielt. Intendant Alexander Pereira darf dafür nicht mehr als 61 Millionen Euro budgetieren (zwei Millionen weniger als er selbst gefordert hatte). Außerdem wurde ihm auferlegt, eine Reserve für das künftige Programm (zwei Millionen Euro) anzulegen. Das Direktorium wird innerhalb von zwei Wochen ein überarbeitetes Budget vorlegen.

Né en 1916 à Angers, Henri Dutilleux, entra en 1933 au Conservatoire de Paris. Il y reçut un premier prix d’harmonie, de contrepoint et de fugue. Il fut lauréat du Grand Prix de Rome en 1938 avec la cantate ‘L’anneau du Roi’. Read More →
