The San Diego Symphony is pushing back until next year its return to Copley Symphony Hall at Jacobs Music Center. The reasons for the postponement are due to unexpected construction problems that have emerged as the nearly 100-year-old hall undergoes a $125 million renovation. Der Italiener Giuseppe Mengoli (*1993) hat die Mahler Competition 2023 der Bamberger Symphoniker gewonnen. Mengoli sicherte sich damit ein Preisgeld in Höhe von 30.000 Euro vor dem zweitplatzierten japanisch-amerikanischen Taichi Fukumura (20.000 Euro) sowie dem deutschen Georg Köhler, der sich als Drittplatziert über ein Preisgeld in Höhe von 10.000 Euro freuen konnte.
