The Polish airline LOT has not allowed Polish violinist Janusz Wawrowski to board a plane with his Stradivarius, according to ResMusica and Rzeczpospolita. The Municipal Theater of Sao Paulo (Brazil) is threatening the city with layoffs if the budget of the multidisciplinary theater with its orchestras, choirs and ballet is not increased to compensate for inflation. Instead of the allocated subsidy of the equivalent of 20.4 million euros, the theater is demanding 24.4 million euros.
Conductor Gustavo Dudamel is leaving Los Angeles to become the new Music Director of the New York Philharmonic. The 42-year-old Dudamel’s contract will officially start at the beginning of the 2026-27 season.
