40-year-old American composer and pianist Courtney Bryan, a native of New Orleans will be Opera Philadelphia’s next Composer in Residence from the fall of 2022. Weil die Intendantin der Bayreuther Festspiele, Katharina Wagner sich dafür einsetzt, das Wort ‘Führer’ am Ende der Wagner-Oper Lohengrin durch ‘Schützer’ zu ersetzen, gibt es Kritik von Dirigent Christian Thielemann. Er kritisiert das Streichen des Wortes aus dem Lohengrin. Dann könne man gleich viel mehr ändern, der ganze Lohengrin sei voll von solchen Stellen, so Thielemann. Damit hat er nicht Unrecht.
