Mit Beginn der Saison 2022/23 tritt Igor Levit, 35, als Co-Künstlerischer Leiter des Musikfestivals Heidelberger Frühling an die Seite des Festivalgründers und langjährigen Intendanten Thorsten Schmidt, teilte das Festival heute mit. Die Zusammenarbeit ist zunächst auf fünf Jahre angelegt.
German pianist Lars Vogt twittered that he has ended his friendship with Russian pianist Boris Berezovsky. On Russian TV, Berezovsky blamed western countries for the war in Ukraine and suggested that Russians cut off electricity from Kyiv. Vogt said: « I cannot believe these statements of my former friend Boris B. But I hear them coming from his mouth. This friendship is officially over. » Now it is up to concert organizers and recording labels to act consequently and to dismiss the pianist from all planned concerts and recordings.
