Der XXII. Internationale Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Wettbewerb Leipzig 2020/2021 wurde abgesagt. Der Wettbewerb sollte ursprünglich letztes Jahr vom 13. bis 25. Juli 2020 stattfinden. Pandemie-bedingt wurde die Austragung nach der Vorauswahl auf den Juli 2021 verschoben. Aufgrund der weiterhin bestehenden pandemischen Situation sei eine Durchführung auch in diesem Sommer nicht möglich, teilt das Bach-Archiv mit.

The Concours Musical International de Montréal has announced the winners of its 2021 Piano Edition. First Prize was awarded to South Korean Pianist Su Yeon Kim, who will collect awards and scholarships valued at over $180,000, an unprecedented total sum for the CMIM. Russian baritone Vladimir Redkin died in Moscow, on 12 may, at the age of 65. Born in Moscow on January 8, 1956 he graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory He also studied with Giulietta Simionato in Milan. He was a soloist at Moscow’s Bolshoi from 1986- 2016. He has performed in leading opera houses, the Vienna State Opera, San Francisco Opera, Toronto, Hamburg and Barcelona.
