Last week, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra was busy recording music for the Luxembourg cultural programme for the Grand-Duchy’s pavilion at the World Expo in Dubai (Pizzicato News). Now, Luxembourg’s Federation of authors and composers FLAC revealed that these compositions have been commissioned from three German composers. The Royal Danish Opera has announced that Italian conductor Paolo Carignani, 59, will be the new Principal Guest Conductor, starting in 2021. The contract will last for three years. Carignani is the successor of the late Alexander Vedernikov who died on 29 October from COVID-19. Read More →
Today is Ludwig van Beethoven’s 250th birthday. The composer was born in Bonn, Germany, presumably on 16 December 1770 and baptized a day later at the Remigius Church, as shown by the baptismal register. Since the planned festivities were messed up by the corona pandemic, the Beethoven Jubiläums GmbH, which coordinates the programme, is therefore planning two major television and streaming projects on December 16th and 17th, 2020. Zur Bekämpfung der Corona‐Pandemie durch Impfung hat die Stadt Stuttgart zwei zentrale Impfzentren nahezu fertig ausgebaut. Ein Impfzentrum befindet sich im größten Konzertsaal der Stadt, der sogenannten Liederhalle – betrieben vom Klinikum Stuttgart – und eines im Robert‐Bosch‐Krankenhaus (RBK).
