Alexander Pereira, 71, ist wegen seines Vorschlags, den saudischen Kulturminister in den Aufsichtsrat der Mailänder Scala aufzunehmen, unter Beschuss geraten. U.a. hat die italienische Oppositionspartei ‘Forza Italia’ beim Kulturministerium in Rom Protest eingelegt. Es geht aber um sehr viel Geld. Angeblich soll der saudi-arabische Kulturminister, Prinz Badr bin Farhan Al Saud, in Aussicht gestellt haben, in den nächsten fünf Jahren 15 Millionen Euro in die Mailänder Scala zu investieren.
Der 1931 in Hamburg geborene deutsche Hornist Gerd Seifert verstarb am 28. Februar in Berlin, wie jetzt erst bekannt wurde. Gerd Seifert kam verhältnismäßig spät zum Horn, im Alter von zwölf Jahren, und debütierte bereits drei Jahre später als Solist im 1. Hornkonzert von Richard Strauss. Javier Perianes, ICMA Artist of the year was in Cleveland last week, playing Ravel in G with The Cleveland Orchestra and François Xavier Roth. At the same time, ICMA Discovery Award winner Eva Gevorgyan was in Cleveland too, playing concerts for the Cleveland International Piano Competition, where she won First Prize in the Junior Division in 2018. Eva attended the Perianes concert and both ICMA winners met backstage.
