The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) has announced Austrian conductor Hans Graf, 70, as Chief Conductor. Graf will assume the role from the 2020/21 concert season, beginning mid-2020.  Graf is succeeding Chinese-American Music Director Lan Shui who stepped down in January 2019, concluding a 22-year career with the SSO. The Sao Paulo Symphony Orchestra announced the appointment of Swiss conductor Thierry Fischer as its next Music Director from March 2020. Fischer will conduct the Orchestra for eight weeks in 2020 and for 12 weeks in subsequent years.
