The International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) organized their Award Ceremony and Gala Concert yesterday, 28 March at the Bilkent Concert Hall in Ankara, hosted by the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra conducted by Isin Metin. The Award Ceremony was presented by ICMA’s President Remy Franck, and awards were given to such artists as Dmitrij Kitajenko, Christian Tetzlaff, YuryRevich, Jodie Devos, Evgeny Koroliov, Xiao-Mei Zhu, Adam Fischer, Wu Wei, John Holloway, the Seoul Philharmonic, the Bilkent Symphony, BIS CEO Robert von Bahr and many more. The Los Angeles Philharmonic announced a contract extension for Gustavo Dudamel through the 2021/22 season. His original contract as Music Director commenced in the 2009/10 season for a 5-year term and was extended in March 2011 to run through the 2018/19 centennial season.

The Jury deciding upon a grant for a concert tour by a young Luxembourgish musician has given this financial aid to the pianist Cathy Krier, who currently plans the organization of a concert tour in Japan in 2015/16. Born in Luxembourg in 1985, Cathy Krier began taking piano lessons at the Luxembourg Conservatoire at the age of five. In 1999 she was admitted to Pavel Gililov’s masterclass at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. She has performed internationally and recorded several CDs. Read More →
