Den Satz « Wir sind im Krieg » hatte der französische Staatspräsident Macron am Anfang der Pandemie geprägt. Und aus dieser Kriegszeit stammt ein Musikprojekt, das auf Anregung von Francesco Molmenti in der Zeit zustande kam, als der Corona-Virus die Welt erschütterte. Zusammen mit zwei Studenten gründete er das In Tempore Belli Guitar Trio. Laut Booklet ermöglichte es ihnen die Quarantäne, sich in der Zeit intensiv der Musik des Barockrepertoires zu widmen. Schließlich konzentrierten sie sich auf Johann Sebastian Bach und transkribierten die gesamte Musik, die auf diesem Album zu hören ist.
Diese Transkriptionen sind sehr rhetorisch und individualisieren die drei Stimmen sehr gut. Es gibt darin eklatante Virtuosität in Verbindung mit Eleganz, Momente besonderer Schönheit und wunderbare Kantabilität. Nur hätte ich mir manchmal mehr ‘tanzenden’ Bach gewünscht.

These transcriptions are very rhetorical and individualize the three voices very well. There is in them elegant virtuosity, moments of particular beauty, and wonderful cantabile. Only I would have liked more ‘dancing’ Bach at times.
