The Mahler Chamber Orchestra announced today a long-term Artistic Partnership with Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto. This partnership will officially be launched in mid-July with an open-air concert at Audi Sommerkonzerte 2018, where Kuusisto is the festival’s 2018 Artist in Residence.
The news release says: « In the upcoming seasons, this partnership will cover a wide spectrum of concept-based projects. As MCO Artistic Partner, Pekka Kuusisto will work on programmes ranging from play/lead performances and concerts featuring a mix of different musical styles to formats encouraging discourse between musicians and audiences. »
