Polish composer and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki, 85, canceled his participation at the 11th Seoul International Music Festival due to health concerns, the organizer said. One of Penderecki’s closest collaborators, Maciej Tworek filled in and led the KBS Symphony Orchestra for the Korean premiere of Penderecki’s St. Luke Passion. In September, Penderecki was already forced to cancel a concert at the Enescu Festival in Bucharest after having been hospitalized in the Romanian capital.
