While the Chicago Symphony musicians are on strike over a failed negotiation for a new labour contract, Nézet-Séguin’s Philadelphia Orchestra has reached an early new four-year contract, about six months ahead of expiration of the current convention. The new agreement includes the creation of two new positions, pay raises for the musicians and more Sunday afternoon concerts.
