A partnership agreement to strengthen and develop the collaboration between the Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris and Cité musicale-Metz has been signed yesterday by the management of both institutions.
This agreement highlights the common ambition to share the musical excellence they represent with the greatest number of people, the press release says. The purpose of the agreement signed is thus to define the projects and actions that the Philharmonie de Paris and the Cité musicale-Metz wish to implement in the coming years, particularly in the field of artistic and cultural education.
From 2020, as part of the national development of the Demos programme by the Philharmonie de Paris, which will lead to the creation of some 60 new orchestras, the Orchestre national de Metz will create two new children’s orchestras. It will also give them a European dimension by welcoming two groups of children from Saarland (Germany) and Luxembourg. In parallel, an advanced orchestra is being considered to bring together children continuing their learning after the first Metz Moselle Demo Orchestra set up in 2016.
