Polish bass Leonard Andrzej Mróz died in Warsaw last Sunday, 13. December, Polish media say. He was 73 years old.
Mróz studied in Warsaw and won several international competitions in the Seventies. He then started an international career, excelling above all in the
Russian repertoire. He was also great in Polish operas as Stolnik in Halka or Zbigniew in The Haunted Manor by Stanislaw Moniuszko.
Mróz has been associated with the Academy of Music in Lodz since 1997, where he led a solo singing class and educated generations of artists. He also taught at the State Music School Fryderyk Chopin in Warsaw and at the Academy of Music in Poznan.
