Revealing its proposed federal budget for 2018, the POTUS* has foreseen to eliminate all the federally funded arts programs, a slaughter he trumpeted about in his campaign. So, all the employees of the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities will lose their job and the organizations funded by both institutions their money.
The cultural eradication will concern also the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which supports PBS, NPR, and other public TV and radio outlets. It’s not like the killer-trumpeter is making a lot of money with that proposal: Funding for the national endowments currently makes up a tiny portion – 0.003% – of the federal budget. In 2016, the NEA and NEH each received $148 million and Public broadcasting was funded with $500 million. But obviously POTUS needs money to invest in his Mar-a-lago resort during his vacations there. Millions and millions of tax payers’ money make his own private resort profitable.
