The government of Québec announced today that it is allocating $7 500 000 to the Montreal Symphony Orchestra of Montreal (OSM). Minister of Culture Marie Montpetit says: « The Montreal Symphony Orchestra plays an inestimable role in the cultural vitality of Québec. Offering an important place to the talents from Québec, this institution is moreover internationally recognized for the quality of its productions. The financial support which our government announces today will allow the OSM to pursue brilliantly the production, the distribution and the promotion of symphonic music. »
