For the final round starting on Monday 24 May, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels has announced the six finalists: Jonathan Fournel, 27, France, Keigo Mukawa, 28, Japan, Sergei Redkin, 29, Russia, Tomoki Sakata, 27, Japan, Dmitry Sin, 26, Russia, Vitaly Starikov, 26, Russia.
The final will take place at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts (BOZAR). Inded, three months after the fire broke out on the roof of the Centre for Fine Arts, the Henry Le Boeuf Hall can welcome musicians again. A proscenium has been added to the stage, allowing the orchestra members to perform at a safe distance from one another.
Each night, one of the six finalists will perform with the Belgian National Orchestra, conducted by Hugh Wolff.
