From the initially registered 412 singers aged 18 to 33 years, the Jury of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels selected 68 candidates to participate in the first public round of this session.
Since four of the selected singers had to withdraw, there are currently 64 participants: 28 sopranos, 15 mezzo-sopranos, 1 contralto, 7 tenors, 9 baritones and 4 basses. Approximately one third of the singers come from Asia.
The tenth edition of the Queen Elisabeth Competition for Voice will take place from 21 May to 3 June.
