If opera fans are used to learn that the renovation of opera houses never happens to be within the announced deadline, the delay in the opening of the Opéra Comique in Paris, which has been announced now, is rather short. We are not speaking about years like in Berlin or Cologne, but of a few weeks. The official reopening will not take place in February but only on 26 April 2017 with Alcione by Marin Marais, conducted by Jordi Savall and staged by Louise Moaty and Raphaëlle Boitel. Scheduled in March, the creation of La Princesse légère by Violeta Cruz has been postponed for a year. Some other performances have also been cancelled, and Offenbach’s Fantasio has been transferred to the Châtelet.
