The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra becomes a new music director. Ward Stare, a Rochester native and former resident conductor of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, will take his new position on September 1. The position has been vacant since 2013, when Arild Remmereit was fired. Stare, 31, studied trombone and conducting.
