The Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro/Italy has confirmed its 2020 edition, which will take place from 8 to 20 August. The program has been adjusted to ensure protection for both artists and audiences, the organisation says.
The schedule will include a new production of La cambiale del matrimonio at the local opera house. The orchestra will not play in the pit, but in the audience-free parterre, and the audience will be seated in the boxes of the Rossini Theatre.
The opera will also be screened outdoor in Piazza del Popolo, to reach a wider audience. At the same piazza, some operatic recitals with some of today’s most renowned Rossinian singers are planned.
Piazza del Popolo will also host the production of Emilio Sagi of Il viaggio a Reims in the context of the Rossiniana Academy Alberto Zedda for two performances on 12 and 15 August.
