Aus Anlass der Krönungsfeierlichkeiten für Charles III. hat The Sixteen ein Programm mit royaler Musik aus einem halben Jahrtausend zusammengestellt. Das ist eine feine Mischung aus jubilierendem und nachdenklichem Material, ausdrucksvoll und technisch kompetent ausgeführt.
Wie immer bei The Sixteen entzückt die Leichtigkeit der Polyphonie. Der polyphone Diskurs bleibt stets lesbar, die Stimmen sind perfekt ausbalanciert und die Interpretation ist sehr nuanciert, sehr lebendig und sensibel.
To mark the coronation celebrations for Charles III, The Sixteen has put together a program of royal music spanning half a millennium. This is a fine blend of jubilant and reflective material, expressively and competently performed.
As always with The Sixteen, the lightness of the polyphony is delightful. The polyphonic discourse always remains legible, the voices are perfectly balanced, and the interpretation is highly nuanced, very lively and sensitive.
