A Moscow court has once more extended the house arrest of the Russian theatre and film director Kirill Serebrennikov over a controversial fraud case to August 22, TASS state news agency reported. The house arrest lasts since August 2017.
Serebrennikov is awaiting trial on charges of embezzling 133 million rubles (€ 1,74 million) of state funding for a theatre project, an allegation he firmly denies. He called the embezzlement allegations against him and his colleagues « absurd »
