Spain’s Orquesta de Córdoba has announced that Salvador Vázquez will be the next Music Director from the 2024-25 season. The contract has been concluded for two years.
Born in Málaga in 1986, the Spanish conductor Salvador Vázquez was awarded First Prize at the Cordoba International Conducting Competition 2016. He was finalist at the 56th Besançon Competition. He was chief conductor of the Coro de Ópera de Málaga (2012-2021), and artistic director of the Joven Orquesta Barroca de Amdalucía (JOBA). Salvador has also been assistant conductor of the Academy Orchestra of the Barenboim-Said Foundation, Orquesta Joven de Extremadura and Orquesta de Extremadura.
