The San Antonio Philharmonic has announced the appointment of American conductor Jeffrey Kahane as Music Director from the 2024-2025 season, for an initial period of three seasons.
Jeffrey Kahane, 67, became music director of the Santa Rosa Symphony In 1995. He held the post until the end of the 2005–06 season, after which he was given the title of conductor laureate. From 1997 – 2017 he was Music Director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, where he was recently named Music Director Laureate. Since 2017, he has been Music Director of the Sarasota Festival.
