San Diego Opera announced that the company and General Director and Artistic Director Ian D. Campbell as well as Deputy General Director Ann Spira Campbell finally « have ended their formal association with each other. » Both were on paid leave since the end of April after the Board and the Campbells couldn’t work any longer together because of Campbell’s much contested decision to close the opera at the end of April.
