The Board of Milan’s Scala has gain postponed a decision whether the current General manager Alexander Pereira will be his own successor or if a new manager will be appointed. According to media reports, an extension of Pereira’s mandate is not completely out of the question. Pereira would like to remain in office for at least two additional years – i.e. until the contract of music director Riccardo Chailly expires. But there are other candidates, Dominique Meyer, director of the Vienna State Opera, and Carlo Fuortes, artistic director of the Roman Opera. The decision is supposed to be taken on 18 June.
