Es tut mir leid, aber hier ist wieder einmal eine Savall-Interpretation, die wegen einer schlechten Tonaufnahme nahezu ungenießbar ist. Die Aufnahme entstand in einer großen Kirche, und der Klang ist inkohärent, teils sehr direkt und nah, teils im Hintergrund wabernd. Zudem ist er nach hinten abgedunkelt, während im vorderen Teil mehr Höhen auszumachen sind.
Savalls Dirigat schwankt zwischen sehr gefühlvoll und hoch dramatisch. Das Solistentrio ist recht gut, Chor und Orchester sind es wahrscheinlich auch, aber in diesem miserablen höchst unausgewogenen, falsch portionierten und künstlichen Klang ist das nicht mit letzter Bestimmtheit zu sagen.
I’m sorry, but here once again is a Savall interpretation that is almost unenjoyable because of a poor sound recording. The recording was made in a large church, and the sound is incoherent, partly very direct and close, partly wavering in the background. Moreover, it is darkened toward the rear, while more treble is discernible in the front.
Savall’s conducting vacillates between very soulful and highly dramatic. The soloist trio is quite good, the chorus and orchestra probably are too, but in this miserable highly unbalanced, wrongly portioned and artificial sound it is impossible to say with ultimate certainty.
