French conductor Emmanuel Joel-Hornak has withdrawn from his post of Music Director at the Scottish Opera after just two months in the job. There are rumors that Joel-Hornak had rows with the general director Alex Reedijk. The departure came so abruptly that Scottish Opera has been forced to cancel a concert Joel-Hornak was due to conduct in Glasgow. Another conductor will be engaged for other tasks of the former Music Director. Emmanuel Joel-Hornak, the brother of the early departing General Manager of the Paris Opera, Nicolas Joel, has currently no other firm job.
