Jerzy Semkov dirigiert eine dem Programm genau folgende, romantisch tonmalerische und alles in allem kohärente und klanglich opulente Interpretation von Rimsky-Korsakovs Scheherazade. Er vereint so Elemente, die andere Dirigenten nicht richtig zusammenbrachten, und es gelingt ihm damit eine der besten Interpretationen dieses Werks im Katalog.
Zum guten Eindruck trägt auch die in ihrer Ausgewogenheit, Präsenz und Räumlichkeit einfach sensationell gute Tonaufnahme bei.
Walter Susskind dirigiert dann noch eine sehr musikantisch angelegte, tänzerische und farbige Interpretation von Orchesterauszügen aus Smetanas Die Verkaufte Braut.
Jerzy Semkov conducts an interpretation of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade that follows the program to the letter, is romantic and pictorial, and all in all is coherent and opulent in sound. He brings together elements that other conductors have not been able to combine properly, thus creating one of the best interpretations of this work in the catalog.
The sensationally good sound recording in terms of balance, presence and spatiality also contributes to the good impression.
Walter Susskind then conducts a very musical, dance-like and colorful interpretation of orchestral excerpts from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride.
