Der chinesisch-luxemburgische Pianist und Organist Tingshuo Yang hat für sein erstes Album beim neuen Label Luxembourg Classics die sechs Partiten eingespielt, die Bach zwischen 1725 et 1731 komponierte.
Yang spielt sehr flüssig in seinen durchaus persönlichen aber auch zeitlos schönen Interpretationen. In seinem sensiblen, singenden Spiel gibt es auch eine gute Dosierung von Emotion.
Die schnellen Sätze haben in ihrem kontinuierlichen Pulsieren nichts Mechanisches an sich, sie entwickeln sich mit einem wunderbaren musikalischen Reichtum. In den langsamen Sätzen gibt es viel Poesie und Zärtlichkeit und nur so viel Empfindung, dass die Musik nicht ins Romantische abgleitet.
Vor allem gefällt mir die spontane Gestaltungskraft, die in gleichermaßen nachdenklich-prägnanten wie eleganten Interpretationen dem gerecht werden, was Bach auf dem Titelblatt der Partitur vormerkte, nämlich, dass es sich um eine Musik handelt, die für Musikliebhaber komponiert wurde, « um ihren Geist zu erfreuen ».
For his first album on the new Luxembourg Classics label, the Chinese-Luxembourgish pianist and organist Tingshuo Yang has recorded the six partitas that Bach composed between 1725 and 1731.
Yang plays very fluently in his very personal but also timelessly beautiful interpretations. There is also a good dose of emotion in his sensitive, singing playing.
The fast movements have nothing mechanical in their constant pulsation; they unfold with a wonderful musical richness. In the slow movements there is a lot of poetry and tenderness, and just enough emotion to keep the music from slipping into romanticism.
Above all, I like the spontaneous creative power, which, in interpretations that are both thoughtful and elegant, does justice to what Bach noted on the title page of the score, namely that this is music composed for music lovers « to delight their minds ».
