Basque soprano Ainhoa Arteta is suffering from health problems related to an earlier COVID-19 infection. She had a heart attack at the end of August that has ended with the amputation of several toes, according to the magazine Semana. The heart attack and the long duration of the cardiorespiratory arrest caused several areas of Ainhoa’s extremities to become necrotic, which forced the doctors to amputate them urgently. Prior to the stroke and due to respiratory problems she could not walk and needed the help of a wheelchair.
In July the singer was admitted to the hospital in Cadis for a nephritic colic that was complicated by septicemia. According to information by Spanish media, the singer is recovering, although her health continues to be very delicate.
