Italian soprano Antonietta Stella died on 23 February 2022. She was 92 years old. Stella made her debut in Spoleto in 1950, a year later she sang at Rome Opera, 1954 at La Scala in Milan, in 1955 at the Royal Opera House in London, and in 1956 at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. She really had a significant career and left several recordings, including of works such as Donizetti’s Linda di Chamounix, Meyerbeer’s L’Africaine, and Verdi’s La battaglia di Legnano and Simon Boccanegra.
