Ivan Fischer dirigiert den ersten Satz der Eroica sehr flüssig, und durch eine gute Transparenz und die Wichtigkeit, die er den Holzbläsern zugesteht, wird die Musik sehr farbig und leuchtend. Im zweiten Satz ist die Transparenz des Klanggeschehens bei durchaus langsamem Tempo noch bemerkenswerter. Den hellen und präsenten Holzbläsern stehen samtige Streicher gegenüber.
Es ist eine von großem Ernst erfüllte, Nachdenklichkeit und auch Schmerz und Trauer ausstrahlende Interpretation.
Im dritten Satz, gelingt es Fischer und dem wie immer exzellenten Budapest Festival Orchestra mit viel Engagement zu spielen. Den letzten Satz nehmen sie mit moderatem Tempo und opulentem Klang.
Etwas ganz Besonderes ist die heftige, scharf akzentuierte und kontrastreiche Wiedergabe der Coriolan-Ouvertüre, die hier in ihrer ganzen, unmittelbaren Dramatik auf uns wirkt.
Ivan Fischer conducts the first movement of the Eroica very fluently, and the music becomes very colorful and luminous thanks to the good transparency and the importance he gives to the woodwinds. In the second movement, the transparency of the sound is even more remarkable, despite the slow tempo. The bright and present woodwinds contrast with the velvety strings.
It is an interpretation of great seriousness, radiating thoughtfulness as well as pain and sadness.
In the third movement, Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, excellent as always, manage to play with great commitment. The last movement is played at a moderate tempo and with an opulent sound.
The performance of the Coriolan Overture, which is presented here in all its immediate drama, is very special, with sharp accents and high contrast.
