An (guten) Gesamteinspielungen der Orgelwerke von Marcel Dupré (1886-1971) ist kein Mangel, erinnert seien an die Zyklen, die etwa beim Label MDG (mit Ben van Oosten) oder bei Naxos (mit wechselnden Organisten) erschienen sind. Nun hat auch Brilliant eine eigene Reihe gestartet und legt hier das Volume 1 vor.

Solist dieser CD ist der 1984 in Conselve (Padua) geborene Alessando Perin, seit 2015 hauptamtlicher Organist der Kathedrale Santa Maria Assunta in Padua. Nach Angaben des Labels wird Perin alle CDs der Reihe einspielen; ob auch auf der Orgel, die er hier spielt – sie befindet sich im Duomo di San Lorenzo, Abano Terme, Padua –, steht laut Aussage von Brilliant noch nicht endgültig fest. Zu begrüßen wäre es, denn dieses aus 3600 Pfeifen und 48 Registern bestehende Instrument, das 1967 von der Firma Tamburini aus Crema gebaut, 1999 von der Firma Diego Bonato nach einem Projekt des Musikers Francesco Finotti restauriert und dabei mit einer kompletten Überarbeitung der gesamten Mechanik versehen wurde, bringt für Darstellung von Duprés Musik ideale Voraussetzungen mit. Hinzu kommt die großartige Akustik des Duomo, die das virtuose, ungemein lebendige und rhythmisch-expressive Spiel des Organisten in die schönste Klangfarben und -kaskaden taucht.

Ganz klar, Alessandro Perin hat die Seele und französische „Grammatik“ von Duprés faszinierender, dabei stets orgelmäßig empfundener Musik-„Sprache“ verstanden. Seine profunden Darbietungen der – notabene äußerst geschmackvoll und klug ausgewählten – Werke lassen daran nicht den geringsten Zweifel aufkommen. Hier ist ein Auftakt nach Maß gelungen, der unbedingt neugierig macht auf den kompletten Zyklus von Brilliant.

There is no shortage of (good) complete recordings of the organ works of Marcel Dupré (1886-1971), such as the cycles released by MDG (with Ben van Oosten) or Naxos (with different organists). Now Brilliant has also started its own series and presents Volume 1. The soloist on this CD is Alessando Perin, born in 1984 in Conselve (Padua), who has been the full-time organist of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Padua since 2015. Clearly, Alessandro Perin has understood the soul and French ‘grammar’ of Dupré’s fascinating musical language, which is always felt in an organ-like manner. His profound performances of the works – which, it should be noted, were chosen with great taste and intelligence – leave not the slightest doubt about this. This is a perfect start, which makes one curious to hear the complete Brilliant cycle.
