The Italian conductor and violinist Stefano Montanari, 54, has been appointed as Music Director of the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari. He will officially begin his tenure in January 2024 and remain in office for three years.
From 1995 to 2012 he was First Concertmaster of the Early Music Ensemble Accademia Bizantina di Ravenna. Montanari teaches baroque violin at the Accademia internazionale della musica Claudio Abbado in Milan. He is also the musical director of the « Young Music Podium Dresden-Venice ».
