Symphony Tacoma (50 km south of Seattle) has extended the contract of Music Director Sarah Ioannides through the 2023-2024 season. Sarah Ioannides (born 1972 in Canberra) is a Greek Cypriot-Scottish-Australian conductor. She grew up in England and studied piano, horn and violin. She arrived in Tacoma in 2014-2015 and had an initial contract for five years. In May, she performed her final concerts as Music Director of the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra of South Carolina. She was also Music Director of the El Paso Symphony.
